How to sell
your wedding dress online
Wedbids makes selling online simple and easy for all.
BID BUY or SELL anything you want on Wedbids.
*Below are 8 simple and easy steps on selling your wedding dress online.
Step 1 Making the decision of selling. Some of us would like to think that our daughters will carry on a tradition and wear the same gown. Some may think l have spent so much why would l sell it.
If youre anything like me l went way over budget on my dress and now l need the cash.
Step 2 Once your decision to sell has been made get it cleaned. Make sure its properly dry-cleaned. Most companies are qualified to do the job but if you have fine detail on the dress it needs to be done by a real professional. So look around and ask as many questions you need.
And most importantly make sure there are no champagne stains left on the gown after you have picked it up.
Step 3 - What price do l want to sell it for. This is an important factor that you need to consider. It needs to be included in your description when selling on Wedbids. What ever you paid 5 years ago may not be the case now. You may need to do a bit of homework online.
Style, Condition and Age of dress will all be important factors you need to include in your listing.
Step 4 How good are you at taking photos? Not only do you need to write a good description, a photo tells a thousand words. Having a good camera will help make your photos look professional. Take your photo in the right location of your home or where ever you decide. The background of the photo does also play a big part when looking at a dress online.
Make sure they are full length colour pictures. Take front, back, neckline, bottom of dress and any detail on dress.
Just remember when you where buying your dress.
Step 5 How do l write up my description. There are important factors to consider when describing the gown.
A wedding gown can be described in parts.
The basic shape of the dress, the sleeves, the bodice, the neckline, and the train.
Have a fitted bodice, full skirt, high waist, fitted shirt, a-line, princess shape, flowing from shoulders, flows around the knees, creating a form-fitted look, strapless gown, mermaid style, halter wrap, off the shoulder, spaghetti straps, form fitted bodice, sleek bodice, classic scoop, royal, are words or phrases you could use to describe your gown.
Be as descriptive as possible even to the last little detail on your dress. Brides to be need to know and if they dont well they may ask you the questions or they may not even bother and just go to the next dress they see that has the details clearly stated.
Step 6 What are you going to offer your potential buyers?
Are you going to offer free delivery, receive half price delivery if buy it now, buyer pick up, delivery options such as international, national, local or you might consider allowing your potential buyer to come and see the dress before they bid.
Potential buyers like to be thought of and made feel special in some way. Offering something might be the key to sell online.
Step 7 - The title. This is the most important element to the whole listing. Most search engines pick up these titles and phrases which makes them more likely to come up in search results. You can give a more detailed title. What l normally do is put myself in the shoes of the buyer, if you were looking for a gown like the one your selling what would you be looking for. Write them down. Google them and see what comes up.
Step 8 Start selling & Best of luck.
